I will post what the plans are later when I know for sure what is going inside it.
I tried looking for what is better AMD vs. intel, but couldn't find it by going to the link you posted slatts. (btw, I would love that map(maybe I can get Jen to work on it))
all I know is that she needs a higher end video card and memory.. just not sure on the intel/AMD chipset to go with.
the guy that is looking into it for us say intel is the better buy this year, but I have my sites on AMD. thoughts and opinions?
update you all later on it.
btw, I am down with a virus on my machince and haven't gotten it back online yet. working on a re format..

the other one where it has the clickable site navigation rooms. that would be an awesome map.
I hear that Intel is on the 'better' side of the coin for now but AMD is more stable... both support dual video, and if it's pretty much all the same, then I will stick with AMD...

(working off of her laptop, but the power recharge is busted and it's n*rigged for power and keeps running off the battery if it's bumped too much) that sucks *
anyhow, I would hope to have a new system to her by Christmas (with sites having deals for cheaper stuff) and all for around $800 and that would have to include:
Monitor (preferably 19") around the $110 range
keyboard / mouse (looking at $25ish total) from good 'ol Wallyworld
Tower ($40ish)
Win XP pro ($10 from local college (student price)
60 - 80 gig HD for just windows, partitioned out per Wilders post from way back
200gig+ drive for her games and art programs (probally split 40/60 respectively) both in total I am thinking $230ish
a video card (she is eyeing one on Tiger direct for $60) can't find it to link it... probally gone though.. so maybe I give her one of mine... ATi Radeon 9800 pro or Nvidia 6600GT don't know.
and a Mobo with 4 slots that can handle dual core and at start 2 gig memory..
again, any thoughts, opinions, suggestions would be great.
I have a friend at work looking for me (he is the AMD guy) , and a guy that my parents use that works at compUSA (he is the intel guy)

This post is for 2 things.. one, to thank slatts for fixing the font color for me. (which btw, I still cannot do)
and an update on the system.... which will be given later this week, lol... was suppose to have an update from one guy Monday via e-mail... the other is suppose to email his specs to us tomorrow...

she also plays and is in classes for game art and design. So we all will be playing games that she has had a hand in, in one way or another .
but yes, I will be using it for UT3 and others while I wait for my upgrade down the road a ways.
Can't wait for it to be up and running. miss playing with you all.
