Im going to start this here just because I know I have maps and some others that didn't direct. Please, write down slow files and post them here, I have WAY to much to check one by one. I know for a fact some SCA maps didn't direct, again, if you find any, post them here.

couldn't wait for the DL to finish... so i moved on. PM the server admin pass, so i can force maps on rotation, i will see what i can find, since my son's comp dont have any files, thats how i find bad ones on my server....lol
i had my kid playing tonight. 3 files on mine as well.. going to fix right now.

the files i had bad were - PsychoBoss2package.u, - Soldierskins_Nobody.utx, - N.umx
hate to say it Chris.. these are the ones you uploaded. check you compress... prob no good, i can send you a copy next time i see you on Skype. keep in mind if you RE-upload to your redirect. delete old files first. if using a FTP client, if it sees same name and file size, it won't over writes as it prompts. i learnt this the hard way. always delete the old one first.... when using free FTP software like filezilla... you get what you pay for...

I compress 2 different ways, UCC ( which sucks because you can only do one at a time ) and another compression program that many have used for years and does 5 at a time. Send me what your using. Havn't been on much because I blew my back out on Monday. Finally I can sit in this chair again. Look for me later this day.

Side Note:
If you look at my FTP site, ALL these SCA maps are there. Most were tested and added to Brads server. I know for a fact Tron works, most all of them do but NONE of them were pathed correctly. Mr. Blood does great work, just never got the nodes to work. Some have embedded weapons, which caused issues as well, those were removed.

Look for yor PM as well. Server DOC and FTP info is there. My back feels alot better now so i'll be on more. Maybe we should add a DL section to the forums. I'd be willing to add everything I have to ease the redirect issues. If that isn't posible, I'll use my host as a mirror.

i asked wilder to look into it about 5 years ago...lol
i know the orig info was posted in this forum somewhere...
just never went back to look for it, could have been the BS FTP program i was using at the time... dono, everyone lost access to it.

Then, I think it's time to build another site, If you can mask, my host can build it ( simular to UTRs forums ). Without complete access to the forums, it's pointless to use unless he can give you access, that is, if remembers... The members logo is messed up, we cant add any other pages ( IE: A DL section ), forum platforms have gotten alot better since this one was built AND much easier.
Just an idea....

Hey Stray... this is an odd request, but can you change your avatar? It's not "work" friendly; makes it borderline difficult to bring up this forum when I'm at work. ;-)
I'll doublecheck the FTP access again sometime today.

Just wasn't sure if you were around. In MySql you can reset passwords but it's a bitch to do. Yeah, I'll take it down.

because everything's columns ( at least my host is that way ) In those are hidden passwords, easy to recover/or reset if you know what your doing. This site needs alot of work. Which it seems noone wants to #### with. That's ok. The marque is fucked, crashed in a way, not sure why, I dont have the raw files to see. I m here Slatts is here, we're tryin to keep it alive. But, change is good as well.....

I'm not attached to this site (as for as the forum code, design, etc)... I'm more attached to keeping the site itself alive. So if it's time to bulldoze this site, and rise up another... I don't mind either.
But I'm lost with the mysql (yes I am moderately experience in SQL) -- but I don't know why we need to change anything on SQL. User/Passwords are saved in a table, but we can use the adminCP to reset most passwords. Is ths not working or something?
OR what is this marque that is broken? I'm looking at this site in Chrome, and everything is working. It looks better than firefox or IE. I can't believe the HTML code and design held up in chrome.
Are you talking about the marquee where the sinnerz aliases are scrolling at the top right? (Its working for me here)??

Rebuilding a dead site would probably be a waste of time, we could still mirror this site off of my host, as long as you know how to mask. But again, nobody comes he all that much. Yes, the marquee I see stops at the letter D, then resets. It's cool, I like it. When I came back to the site after years, it hasn't worked right since. Im also using Chrome. Is it possible to add another page, if so, I could upload a bunch of stuff for others to use. I just didn't see this point of making another forum just for that. If it were busier here, then maybe. As far as the adminCP Tom has asked my not to mess with it till he could show me around, so, I havn't even clicked it

oh, I see the marque issue now, it stops after diablo. I should look at it with other browsers. it should just be a <marque></marque> tag or something.

I think I fixed it. I think chrome has issue with:

the scroll has always worked fine for me. IE 8.
never had a problem.
as for the SQL question. it started with your redirect issues Sean.
you had mentioned that some of the DL files were slow.
we were talking about a place to host those files in a zip format. this way you could install at your will.
i had posted that this forum use to have FTP storage for all Sinnerz. but the password or user name seemed to get fubared years ago.
Stray mentioned that this could be fixed with the SQL tools.
i mentioned that i didnt have access to that part.
and thats how it came about.

OH, no you couldn't fix FTP with SQL. Its a UNIX server, you would need to create a username + password for the FTP. I didn't remember it, so I logged in as my admin account, deleted the usernames create new ones and set theftp password. (posted in the other forum).
SQL is a database language; used to manage relational database supporting it, such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL... etc. If you know the database layout, the database names, and table, and field name, you can use SQL command to modify that database records; which I am guessing Stray thought it the ftp username/password could have been stored in a SQL database.
Nope.
What is stored in a MySQL database is the sin forum stuff... like the forum users, and passwords and access levels... which is seperated from the server. This forum writes its data like posts, replies, and so on to a SQL database. FTP is not part of the forum. But it runs off the same server the forum software is running on too.
Were you guys able to access the FTP?

the ftp worked fine for me, i will make a zip map folder and upload some when time permits..
is there a size cap?
