Resistence: Fall of Man Platform: Sony Playstation 3
--------------------------------------------

11.24.2006.

Still playing the game.  I put about 30minutes, 1, or 2 hour each day into it -- depending on the day: workday -- usually 30min to 1 hour.  Non-workday: about 1-2 hour depending on chores.

so far where it stands, it's a excellent game.  I dont think it's quite as great as Gears of War for the XBOX360, but it sure would give it a run.

So far it's quite enjoyable, and my pending rating up to this point is a 4/5.

Graphics looks GREAT.
Sound great, especially in 5.1.

there is not a lot to complain other than the it didnt feel original.  It felt like a mix of half-life2, halo, call of duty, quake4.  And it's not quite a bad thing, they correctly blend different gameplay, story, weapons, etc that worked out great.

many other tried to do this, and failed miserably.  R:FoM is not one of them.  If you never played any of the games mention, this might be feel fresh for you and become a 4.5 or even 5/5 game for you.

Again I'm not finish with it.  Maybe the ending would blow me away.  So there's still time and room for this game to really impress me.

It will probably be the best PS3 game out this year.

Alright, finished the game... even tried online a few times.  Online was frustrating for me.  Not because it was bad, but because i hate playing on a gamepad.  Needless to say I played 1 game and got pwned.  I didnt do as bad as I thought being a gamepad n00b.

Online play didnt really feel fun... kinda felt like half-life2 deathmatch but on a gamepad... Anyhow... i'm not here to review online aspect... just felt like commenting on it.

single player campaign was quite good.  Some of the "boss" if you call it boss fight was pretty unique... like the one where you need to take down the Goliath.  Holy crap that thing is big.

The ending was pretty good too.  Not really a big final boss... but you gotta do something that figures out the puzzle... get to it. blow it up... all while hordes of enemy comes at you trying to kill you before you can finish the task.

This seems the way most games are going now a days, which isnt bad.  But i miss the good ole days where at the end of each level/world you go head-to-head with a level-boss.  Thats why I liked Doom3.  Thats why I like Quake4... they all have awesome, fun boss fights in them.

I would say this is 4.25/5, but its not fair.  it's not exactly a B grade game.  I might have to change to a 10 scaling system, because this felt more like a 9/10 score.  Great game... A-, but not an A, or A+.

If you're lucky enough to get your hands on a PS3, this would probably be your best bet for your PS3 game.

If you can get a hold of one... consider the XBOX360, and get Gears of War.  That game is THAT good.
