It looks like more and more games are beginning to have patches to provide native 64bit support to run in 64bit mode when installed on system running Windows X64.

Personally on my system, I'm dual booting between 32bit and 64bit Windows XP.  All the games (WindowsXP games) I have so far, runs pretty flawless on on X64.  Some games ran better even on 32bit mode.

Games like Quake4 run better!  and it didnt even have the 64bit patch.  This is because it was able to access more RAM, and when I adjust the image_cache for it, to use the extra ram, it simply rocked.

Then you have games like Farcry which has a 64bit patch, and although it played the same... it perform better which more detailed graphics with the same hardware.

I recently have the half-life2 64bit update as well, but did not really notice any difference.

Also Unreal Tournament 2004 also have a 64bit patch out.  So I was able to run that on native 64 mode as well, but have not played it enough to notice much difference.

Now, Quake4 is coming out with a SMP patch... which will be multi-threaded so it will use 2 cpu's and/or 2 cores!  So we're beginning to see games also starting to take advantage of multi-core CPUs.

2006 will be a interesting year for dual-core and 64-bit OS/games
