once you make the package that is it.
you can't edit it in any way or maps won't load... files mismatch.
so you need to make a master list of what is to be converted. it will suck for the first map you DL. 10 to 15 meg texture file 4 no real reason. but no DL for every other. you just need to plan it out cause once it is done, it is done.

nope. the map records the files and size, the only way to rebuilt an older texture file is to reload the map into ED. then compile it, cull it. and save it. this results in the map being over writen and you have to gave a diff name and up load it again to the server, or all you will get is mismatch.
